Talent Partner at StartUp Connect

Longhouse was the Talent Partner at the Startup Connect on April 19th 2012 at Hotel Royal Orchid Bangalore. The event was an attempt to line up a solid group of entrepreneurs, investors and select company executives for an intimate dinner discussion forum to share best practices and strengthen Bangalore's startup community.

The gathering included Venture and Angel Funds representatives from Sequoia, Matrix , Angel Prime, Harvard Angels , IDG , Indo US amongst others. The entrepreneur’s spectrum included seed funded, series A, B and C funded startups with a bulk of them being in their early stages sometimes with just an idea and co-founder/co-founding team.

The topic of discussion was -- Beyond the Clichés (questions such as how mobile will impact your business and where conventional wisdom on mobile is wrong).Given the pace of adoption of smart phones in India and increased usage of 3G , mobile has made a significant impact to the life of an Indian. Both the entrepreneurs and investors are looking at business models which can help leverage mobile as a platform to create new age businesses. The revenue models being evaluated included operator supported models, direct subscription based model and advertisement based models.

Speaking at the event Anshuman Das, Managing Partner of Longhouse Consulting highlighted the impact of mobile and the disruption being created by it in the current Indian scenario. The talent requirements of organizations focusing around Mobile ecosystem were discussed and issues around identifying potential leaders in Mobile space were highlighted.

The discussion proceeded with round table discussion around the topic of the day and a free flowing idea sharing session over the dinner. The gathering of around 80 which included investors, entrepreneurs, corporates provided an ideal platform to discuss current trends in mobile and how it is going to shape the next generation of businesses.
